YOUTH T-SHIRT $ DUE
This is a reminder for the Turning Point Youth that t-shirt money may now be turned in to Darren Lee. The cost is $7 per shirt. Checks may be made payable to Lewisburg UMC with the notation, "Youth T-Shirts."
COOKIES FOR KAIROS WEEKEND
We have been asked to supply 100 dozen cookies for the upcoming Kairos Walk at Lebanon Correctional Facility. If you are interested in baking cookies for this ministry, or would like more information about it, please see Mary Morrow. The cookies are needed by September 15.

• (1) Roll of Aluminum Foil
SERVANT OPPORTUNITIES
Children's Sunday School (11:15-12:00)
• Computer Gurus: Be able to make power points, set up a screen, and run a projector.
• Music Leader: Be able to download music, create CD's, and lead students in singing.
• Props and Costume Getters: Be able to gather props and costumes from a list of items that will be needed for class.
• Bible Lesson Leader: Be able to instruct a large group of students about the daily Bible lesson by "following" a script.
• Assistant Actors: Be able to assist the Bible Group Leader by dressing in costume and following a script.
• Small Group Leaders: Be able to conduct small group activities emphasizing the daily Bible lesson taught during the large group setting.
During Sunday Morning Worship (9:45-11:00)
• Nursery Servants: Be able to love on our smallest bundles of joy!
• Kids Church Servants: Be able to teach a faith-filled lesson, play with kids, and change the world!
• Sound Ministry: Be able to be trained on how to make the people on stage sound good!
• Media Ministry: Be able to work in collaboration on Sunday's presentation, creating videos, etc.
• Hospitality Team: Be able to welcome guests and members to the Story of God each week with joy!
• Scripture Readers: Be able to read.
• Sing/Play in the Band: Be able to sing ... or play an instrument.
SUNDAY MORNING MINISTRY EXPLOSION - September 12 from 11:15-12:15
Groups for Kids (Pre-K - 6th grade): A reshaped, revamped hour of hands-on learning about God! There will be singing, drama, media, Scripture, play, prayer and more. All the kids will meet in the Rainbow Room to begin with, and then break into their individual groups for small group discussion.
Groups for Teens (7th - 12th grade): Junior High and Senior High teens will gather together in the youth rooms for the kickoff of a new way to approach Sunday school. Come explore discovery, wonder, and passion.
Groups for Adults (older than 12th grade): - There will be three groups to begin this fall. Choose one to join this week:
• PRIMAL - All are welcome to meet in the Worship Area for this lively discussion on the book Primal by Mark Batterson. It is an in-depth look at the Great Commandment to Love God and Love Others. Come even if you've not read the book!
• SUNDAY - This group meets in Room 126 (East hallway) and seeks to apply the Story of the morning to real life and often times engage in book or Bible studies too. Come and be a part any week.
• SHAPE - This 5-week class will meet in Room 125 (East hallway) and is for anyone who wants to explore how God has uniquely wired them for service. Pastor Dan & Erin Gildner, and Pastor Jeff will walk you through spiritual gifts, passions, abilities, personality, and experiences to arrive at your SHAPE.
TURNING POINT YOUTH MINISTRY FALL KICK-OFF
All teens (7th thru 12th grades) and their parents are invited to Turning Point Youth Ministry's Fall Kick-Off event on Sunday, September 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The evening will begin with supper in the church woods followed by a chance to find out what the Turning Point Youth are all about.
DISCIPLES OF FAITH
The Disciples of Faith Women's Bible Study will resume weekly sessions on September 16, beginning with the last six chapters of the Contagious Joy series.
TGIW KIDS BEGINS . . . Wednesday, September 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
CALLING ALL KIDS pre-school age through 6th grade! We will meet every Wednesday in the worship area, starting with praise and worship before breaking into small groups. Contact Betsy Lock (937-678-4494) for more information.
WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY SENDING NOTES & PRAYERS TO OUR MILITARY
The women's Bible study ladies would like to send a note and a prayer to our loved ones in the service, but they need mailing addresses. Please drop off military addresses at the church office or e-mail church@lewisburgumc.org.

FOOD BANK NEEDS PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS
In your generosity remember the needs of others in our own community by donating: cereal • soups • crackers • spaghetti & sauce • peanut butter • canned vegetables • baked beans • toilet paper • soaps (laundry and dish) • and other items. Bring them to church or take them directly to Trinity Lutheran.
The food bank is currently in great need of plastic shopping bags, like what you get when you shop at the grocery or Wal-Mart. Here's a great chance to recycle those bags that have been piling up!
